Today Wairakei had a fundraiser mufti-day for kids-can.We raised $267. Kids-can is charity for children in poverty.We and our  buddies had a picture taken to show our our color. Can you guess our colour?

Ultranet with Buddy Class

Ultranet will be used to communicate our learning with the wider school community. 

We helped our buddies log onto the ultranet.

We showed them how to send a message, change their pictures  and access their class space.

We will be able to send them work and they can comment on it and tell us where we could be better. 

Yay to Ultranet!

Poetry Week

Room 5 are looking at poetry this week to develop our language tools- metaphors, similes, alliteration, rhyme and rhythm.

Week 4 reflection

Throughout week 4 we have been learning to write our own myths. Our next step is to re-craft and rewrite the legends of our towns by using our myth criteria and revision tools such as navigating my writing books and other's feedback.
Weekly Winter Sport on Thursday we persevered by giving it our best and playing how we've taught to be play. It showed our We Work Hard characteristic of Wairakei School. The hockey and netball teams had wins. Though the soccer teams lost they gave it their best.
