Bleachy, James and Kelly were our instructors.
Monday was fine with and easterly and Thursday was fine with a southerly.

Both groups had a brilliant day and many became competent at sailing the optimist yachts. (Even Mr Lynch)

Our Dance Costumes.

On Wednesdays, our teacher Mrs Gibson comes in and teaches us. This term is very different because she told us to think of a country that inspires us the most and look at the costumes that they are wearing and making it a better version, so that it is easier for the dancers to move in. It took us nearly half a term to make our costumes pretty and perfect. We selected different types of dance. They were: Samoan, Niuean, Flamico and Hip Hop. Here are some photos of our costumes.

Sailing Lesson

On Friday the 31st of September, Simon, Max and Steve came to our school to teach the Wairere team how to sail properly. We had so much fun. We all got a turn to sit in the Dinghy and hold on to the Tiller and the Main Sheets. Our aim was to hold on to the Tiller while people are turning the Dinghy around. We are going real sailing next term in week 3. We can't wait!!!

These are some of them: The Dream Of Aroha, Reihana The Ant, Mother Tohora The Whale and The Lolly Tree.  He brought in some of his Maori instruments. ASB Money Save Adventure

On Wednesday the 31st of August an ASB  lady called Hollie Sutton came in and told us about how to save money. She told us that you can save your money in the bank and you will get a free gift called an interest. She told us  about her story when she got her first eftpos card and she told us how to use an eftpos  card properly. She even told us ways to earn. They were chores, neighborhood work, Sell and trade and the last of all was business. These are some photos that Mr Lynch took.

Room5 reading activities

In Room 5 we have been doing some reading activities.

Here are some samples.

We  used  the cards to choose are activities.

These are the levels of thinking for the reading activities. The top level is evaluation and knowledge is the lowest thinking.

Room 5's Excellent Learning!

In Room 5, we have been learning to write a news paper report based on Little Red Riding Hood. Some of the headlines are Red Riding Hood Wrestles Wolf, Gobble, Gobble, Gobble Goes Grandma and Red Goes MISSING! Mr Lynch has been helping us write a news paper report but not writing a recount or a story.
To make a good newspaper report you will need; a Headline, a lead paragraph, details, an interesting point and dialogue.
